FEICOM

Philippe Camille AKOA, General Manager of FEICOM

Dear Partners, dear readers

As we continue writing the pages of our history, I am pleased to extend to you my best wishes of happiness, health and prosperity for 2025. May the Lord crown this year with success and progress for you, your loved ones, your projects, and your territories.

The year 2024 was an exceptional one for the Special Council Support Fund for Mutual Assistance (FEICOM), marked by major achievements and highlights that will remain engraved in our collective memory. We proudly celebrated the fiftieth anniversary of this institution marking as such half a century of achievements and commitment at the service of local development. Placed under the highly distinguished patronage of the President of the Republic, His Excellency Paul Biya, this celebration offered an opportunity to take a break and review our journey so far, looking back to the past, assessing our actions, and looking forward to the future with more confidence and serenity. The Golden Jubilee celebration also enabled us to reaffirm our vision of more dynamic, resilient, and innovative territories and better Regional and Local Authorities.

Thanks to the growing involvement of our partners, the commitment of our teams, and your valuable suggestions, we have attained record levels in terms of financial resource mobilisation and financing of projects that contribute to improving the well-being of our fellow citizens. The financial resources provided by the State and our partners were used to finance hundreds of local projects in key sectors such as infrastructure, education, health, nutrition and the ecological transition. Each achievement is evidence of our shared commitment to building communities that are conducive to the development of our fellow citizens and a legacy for future generations.

In 2025, we will continue to innovate and adapt our strategies to effectively rise up to the challenges facing us. The stakes and challenges of fast-tracking and deepening the decentralisation process in our country as well as climate change, and digital transformation will therefore remain at the centre of our priorities. We are more determined than ever to support Regional and local authorities in their development by offering them sustainable financial and technical solutions that are tailored to their needs.

We wish to extend our warm gratitude to all our institutional, technical and financial partners for their trust and unwavering support. Our appreciation is also addressed to you, dear readers, for your loyalty and interest in our work. Your commitment and trust are a daily source of inspiration and motivation.

In this new year, I would like all of us continue “contributing to making Regional and local authorities a better place.”

Happy and successful New Year 2025!
