Specific Memorandum of Understanding for the implementation of the first phase of the “e-Water Programme”
On 29 April 2025, Mr. Gwennaël TCHOUNGUI, President of WHAT WATER, an association under Luxembourg law, and the General Manager of FEICOM signed the specific Memorandum of Understanding for the implementation of the first phase of the “e-Water Programme.”
This first phase, involving co-financing to the tune of 120 million CFA francs, covers one Council per Region and seeks to provide them with solar-powered drinking water supply infrastructure in the short run and at reduced costs for vulnerable populations.
The identified activities will specifically include the construction and securing of solar-powered boreholes, support for local authorities in addressing issues of climate change, gender, and vulnerable people, and the building of partnerships to increase resources for project implementation.
On the sidelines of this signing, discussions dwelt on the status of implementation and prospects of the Memorandum of Understanding signed on 20 August 2024, between the two organizations, one of the major focuses of which is the implementation of the Water Care project in Cameroon.
