On July 6th 2026, FEICOM hosted the inaugural meeting of the Monitoring Committee established to oversee the deployment of interactive digital education infrastructure in Cameroon, an important step in translating the Promethean digital education initiative from institutional commitment into operational delivery.
The meeting was presided over by the Vice-Chair, Mr Cham Etienne Bama, Regional Director of the Commonwealth Enterprise and Investment Council (CWEIC) for Cameroon, Gabon, Togo and Sierra Leone, acting on behalf of the Committee Chair, Mr Philippe Camille Akoa, General Manager of FEICOM.
It brought together the representatives of the Prime Minister’s Office and the Presidents of the five participating Regional Assemblies: Adamawa, North West, West, South West, and South.
At its core, the initiative reflects a broader national ambition to modernise learning environments, strengthen institutional coordination, and ensure that digital education infrastructure reaches schools in a manner that is both strategic and sustainable.
The Committee’s work will be central to maintaining momentum, aligning stakeholders, and supporting effective implementation across the selected regions.
